Some weather records may be smashed this week, as Germany braces for its first heat wave of the year. The temperature will rise steadily throughout the week, before hitting a high point on Friday, when the 37-degree mark can be broken.

The German Weather Service (DWD) wrote in its daily report on Monday, noting that two strong weather fronts (“Una” and “Zoe”) will bring a full load of hot air to Germany over the next week.

On this mild weekend, Friday will be proof that hot, dry weather can never last in Germany, as rain and thunderstorms roll across the western half of the country. Elsewhere, it will be sunny and dry, and the temperature will not drop: in the west you can look forward to a very humid day between 26 and 32 degrees; Elsewhere, the temperature is expected from 31 to 37 degrees, with the highest values in the Lusatia region.
